Does your restaurant have a review rating of 4 stars or above?
Are you actively pursuing more reviews to attract customers and grow sales?
If your star rating online is less than 4 stars nearly half of consumers will not even consider doing business with you.
57% of consumers won’t use a business that has fewer than 4 stars (up from 48% in 2017)
And old reviews don’t count!
85% of consumers think that online reviews older than 3 months aren’t relevant and 40% of consumers only care about reviews submitted within the last two weeks
So how do you increase your star rating online?
Yes, it’s true that certain review sites state in their guidelines that you shouldn’t solicit reviews, but there are ways to encourage more reviews for your restaurant.
A lot of consumers just simply don’t think about leaving a review. So why not make it easy for your guests to leave a review before they leave your establishment?
Many restaurants have set up a tablet (think iPad, Fire, etc.) in a centralized location that allows guests to share their feedback. It could also be integrated into the payment process or as an option for the patron to sign up for loyalty rewards or birthday clubs. Just make sure your guests are not being rewarded for leaving a review – most review sites frown on this.
Afraid if you ask that that you will turn off a customer? Research doesn’t support this.
70% of consumers that were asked to leave reviews went on to do so. 70%!
With our system, customers don’t feel pressured to leave a review and are happy to share their feedback because they feel it will be valued. Also, in most cases, our review management software does the asking for you and with just a few clicks the customer has left a review on Facebook or Google or any of the other hundreds of review sites.
