Looking to drive sales to your restaurant with minimal effort?
Want more consumers to find your business online?
The vast majority of consumers (86%) read reviews for local businesses.
Here are three keys of getting your restaurant or small business noticed online and drive sales.
Reviews are crucial – especially for restaurants
For the sixth year running, consumers are most likely to read reviews for restaurants and cafés. In fact, even more consumers read restaurant reviews this year than they did the year before.
Make sure your business information is up-to-date and accurate on all review platforms such as Yelp, Facebook Recommendations, or Google Business Reviews, etc. It just takes a few minutes and it makes it easier for your guests to find you and do business with you when they have accurate information.
Ask customers to leave reviews
Yes, it’s ok to ask. As long as you’re not soliciting only good reviews or offering compensation for reviews, you’re in the clear. Don’t let fear of negative reviews keep you from asking.
Find creative ways to ask. Mention that you welcome feedback on the receipt, your e-newsletter, or put up a sign in your establishment.
Some of our clients have set up a computer tablet (think iPad, Fire, etc.) in a centralized location that allows guests can share their feedback. Based on the type of business, using the tablet guests can leave a review on various platforms – Facebook, Google, Angie’s List, etc.). It’s completely safe and super convenient.

Respond to all reviews!
This is an opportunity to acknowledge your guests in a unique way. By showing gratitude for a positive review or acknowledging a bad review, you are showing you care about your business and their perception of it. This is important for the 89% of consumers who read local businesses’ responses to reviews.
If your restaurant is lacking online reviews or has too many bad reviews, it’s time to change that by implementing the steps above. Better yet, save time and utilize a reputation management software system that also integrates positive reviews right onto your website which also help with SEO.
