Can your customers easily find the information they need to give you their business?
Probably not as well as you might assume and it is costing you sales!
We’ve seen it time and time again – restaurant Facebook pages with outdated, missing, or incorrect information.
Restaurant owners will ask their managers to get a Facebook page ready and then never follow up on the key details that their guests are looking for.
In less than 10 minutes you can clean up your Facebook page and assure that people can reliably find you and ultimately spend money with you!
In Facebook you’ll first click on SETTINGS which is in the upper right of your business’ Facebook page.
From there, click on PAGE INFO
Now let’s make sure your information is up to date:
Description – Here’s where you want to describe your business. You’re limited to 155 characters so keep it brief and to the point, but make sure you let people know what makes you unique.
Categories – This helps people find your page on Facebook. You can choose up to three categories, the more specific to your type of restaurant the better.
Impressum - An Impressum is the term given to a legally mandated statement of the ownership and authorship of a document, which must be included in books, newspapers, magazines and websites published in Germany and certain other German-speaking countries, such as Austria and Switzerland.
Phone number – Make sure this is the number to a dedicated line to your restaurant, not your personal number, so that people can call with questions, reservations, or take out orders.
Website – Copy and paste the complete URL to your website here.
Email – Insert a dedicated email address that gets checked regularly here.
Wifi – Make it easy for guests to connect to your WIFI by adding your WIFI network name.
Location – Seems obvious, right? Double check that your address is correct so that guests can pull up directions to your restaurant with just one click. Also, be sure to click the box that allows visitors to check-in to your business via Facebook – this is great for engagement!
Hours – Double check that your open hours are correct. One sure fire way to lose a customer forever is for them to be ready to dine with you and discover you’re closed.
Here’s where you can provide more details relative to your restaurant. Your options may look different depending upon the Facebook template chosen.
Take a few minutes and fill in all applicable fields. Remember, this is how your potential diners get to know you at a glance. If they have to hunt for the information, they often won’t even bother and move on to someone else.
