If you’ve been a follower for a while, you know that I’m a big proponent of Facebook Live for our clients. I truly believe this is the quickest and most authentic way to reach potential customers on Facebook to drive awareness.
Recently, Facebook made several updates and tools for improvements and added more customization. Here are the ones you should pay attention to drive sales and beat the competition.
Facebook Live Updates
Go Live From the Web
You can now use a web browser instead of your mobile device to go Live. This is especially helpful if you don’t have someone else available to hold the phone/camera. If your laptop has a webcam and microphone, just go to your Facebook page and click “Live Video” to get started.
Personally, I still prefer the phone when I manage Facebook Live, especially for our restaurant clients. The ability to maneuver the camera to show off the menu creations is a must.
Live Contributor for Pages
Previously, only admins could broadcast live, but now you can designate specific individuals to stream live on behalf of your page. This is great if you have employees in the field or team members from multiple locations, thus allowing admins to maintain control over the page but allowing you to possibly capture a live event you could not attend.
You can add a Live Contributor by clicking on “Settings” and “Page Roles” and selecting “Live Contributor” from the drop-down menu.
Live Comment Pinning
Facebook reports that people comment 10 times more on Facebook Live videos than regular videos, so why not show off some of those great comments?
Or you can share vital information (website, prices, ordering information) in your own comment and keep it pinned so everyone can see it. Just press and hold down on the comment you want to pin and a window will open allowing you to “like”, “pin”, or “delete” the comment.
